Since his election to Congress in 2014, Don has brought integrity and experience to the House, consistently advancing progressive, principled solutions to the toughest challenges at home and abroad.
Don’s decades of public service include his time as Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, where he championed protections for vulnerable communities, and as Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, where he helped push for stronger sanctions that brought Iran to the nuclear negotiating table. His leadership is grounded in compassion, pragmatism, and a deep belief in public service.
