Carl Marlinga is running for Congress in Michigan's 10th District to unseat Republican incumbent John James. Marlinga previously ran for the seat in 2022, coming within 2000 votes with marginal national attention on the race.
Marlinga was born and raised in Detroit, graduating with a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Detroit, and a law degree from the University of Michigan. He served for almost 40 years as the Macomb County Prosecutor, an Assistant US attorney, and most recently as a judge on the 16th Judicial Circuit Court and Probate Court. His legislative priorities include local job creation, protecting the environment, and criminal justice reform.
Marlinga is closely aligned with J Street's pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy values. He's an strong proponent of the two-state solution and a diplomacy-first foreign policy, and believes the US must play a leadership role in achieving a negotiated agreement and delivering a more peaceful future for Israelis and Palestinians.
