Coalition builder Jeff Jackson is a freshman Member of Congress representing Charlotte, Gastonia, Mount Holly and Belmont. A former state senator, veteran and assistant district attorney, he ran for Congress to “stand up for honesty and decency on both sides of the aisle.”
Jackson centered his campaign on common ground issues, like expanding Medicaid, increasing funding for early-education, and investing in renewable energy. An Army veteran, he is clear-eyed about the human toll of war.
Congressman Jackson, whose wife and children are Jewish, deeply values the US-Israel relationship. In conversations with J Street, he has emphasized that the path towards a lasting peace runs through a two state solution and opposes actions that may push that further from reality. He backs a diplomatic solution to the Iran nuclear crisis that would block their path to a bomb and avoid a potentially catastrophic war of choice.
