Tina Smith

Progressive powerhouse Tina Smith has represented Minnesota in the Senate since 2018.

A longtime political staffer and consultant, Smith was a vice president at Planned Parenthood from 2003 to 2006, where she lobbied against efforts to curb abortion rights. During her Senate tenure, Smith has continued her work on women’s reproductive rights and has also focused on climate action and expanding healthcare access.

Smith served as chief of staff to Minneapolis Mayor RT Rybak and following that, served as Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton’s chief of staff. Smith became Minnesota’s 48th Lieutenant Governor in 2015 and was appointed to the US Senate in 2017.
