Who we are

JStreetPAC is a J Street affiliated, membership-based Political Action Committee. You can contact J Street and JStreetPAC via phone on 202.596.5207 or via mail at PO Box 66073, Washington, DC 20035. Our website is www.jstreetpac.org

JStreetPAC is a federal political action committee that primarily helps members elect candidates who reflect our values through a variety of activities aimed at influencing the outcome of the next election. Contact JStreetPAC at [email protected].

J Street is a 501(c)(4) organization that primarily focuses on nonpartisan education and advocacy on important national issues. Contact J Street at [email protected].

Contributions to JStreetPAC or endorsed candidates are not tax deductible for federal income tax purposes.

The data you share with JStreetPAC

JStreetPAC collects Personal Information you provide through the website for the purposes of creating user accounts, processing transactions, complying with campaign finance laws, developing our email list and notifying you of key developments. Personal Information includes, by way of illustration, names, addresses, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses.

We collect Personal Information from eligible individuals who affirmatively request to receive e-mail or other services from us. We collect this Personal Information in order to provide these eligible individuals with timely information via e-mail regarding political events, resources and issues. We also collect Personal Information from those who make online contributions to campaigns campaign, in order to process the contributions.

JStreetPAC will never sell or share your data beyond the J Street family of organizations (J Street, JStreetPAC, J Street Education Fund, J Street Action Fund) without explicit permission, unless required by law or FEC reporting requirements, or for operational purposes (ie. third party service providers which assist in providing advertising services, payment processing, website security, cloud-based services, email list management etc.)

Subscribers to our e-mail list may terminate their subscriptions at any time using the link at the bottom of every email we send out.

IP addresses

We log IP addresses, which are the locations of computers or networks on the Internet, and analyze them in order to improve the value of our site and to protect your security. We also collect aggregate numbers of page hits in order to track the popularity of certain pages and improve the value of our site. We do not gather, request, record, require, collect or track any Internet users’ Personal Information through these processes.

Security

We maintain a variety of physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your personal information. For example, we use commercially reasonable tools and techniques to protect against unauthorized access to our systems. Also, we restrict access to personal information to those who need such access in the course of their duties for us.

Your own efforts to protect against unauthorized access play an important role in protecting the security of your personal information. You should be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer, and always log out of any site when viewing personal information.

We may have links to other, outside web sites that we do not control. We are not responsible for the content or privacy policies of these sites, and users should check those policies on such sites.

Embedded content from other websites

Pages on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Payment information and login information

Your payment information is stored and processed by our third party payment processor, Stripe. You can view Stripe’s privacy policy here. Your login password and other user data is managed by a third-party website provider, WordPress. You can view WordPress’s privacy policy here.

Data retention

We retain your data as long as is required to provide you services, record your membership,  process requests or keep in touch – or as long is required by law. Every several years we delete datasets from inactive users and unsubscribed users. You may request we delete your data at any time following the process below.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

You may opt-out of providing certain information, however, it may limit your use of the website and we must collect certain information to comply with FEC reporting requirements.

Email [email protected] with the subject line: “Attn Digital Team: Delete My Data” or “Attn Digital Team: Export My Data” to ensure your request is received and acted upon. You can read more about your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act here.

Email list privacy

As noted above, we maintain e-mail lists to keep interested, eligible individuals informed about important topics, and individuals must affirmatively request to join them. We configure our list server software to refuse to divulge the email addresses of our list subscribers to anyone other than those whom we authorize. However, we are not the author of this software, and are not responsible for any failures in the software to preserve subscriber anonymity.

Children

JStreetPAC does not solicit personally identifying information from children. Visitors who are under 13 years of age should ask their parent or legal guardian for assistance when using the Site and should not submit any personally identifying information to the Site. For example, visitors under 13 years of age should not make donations or use the JStreetPAC email tool.
