Cognetti won a 2019 special election for Mayor campaigning on an anti-corruption platform that became known as “Paige Against the Machine” and defeating a scandal-plagued incumbent.
The Cook Political Report just upgraded PA-08 from lean Republican to a toss-up, making this race a top flip opportunity for Democrats and is crucial to securing a Pro-Israel, Pro-Peace, Pro-Democracy majority in Congress.
