Ashley Ehasz grew up in southern Pennsylvania and joined the army at age 17 in order to fund her education. Upon graduating West Point, Ehasz was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant within the U.S. Army Aviation branch. First stationed in Fort Rucker, Alabama, she attended flight school and trained to become an AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopter pilot. Ehasz graduated in January 2012 as the only woman in her Apache class. After her service, Ehasz received her Master’s degree from the University of Oxford. She then worked as a policy writer and project coordinator to implement the CARES Act for county government and now serves as a government and public service sector consultant.

Ehasz is now running to unseat Republican incumbent, Brian Fitzpatrick. She has many endorsements including from the Jewish Democratic Council of America. Ehasz is committed to standing up for J Street values in Congress. “As both an American citizen and combat veteran, [she] also [knows] that the United States has the power and moral responsibility to stand up as a defender of the Jewish community on the global stage.” Ashley supports Israel’s right to defend itself, and also supports humanitarian aid and economic assistance to the Palestinian people. As a combat veteran who has seen firsthand the damage of war, she “deeply value[s] diplomacy and [is] strongly committed to the U.S.-Israel alliance.” Ehasz supports a two-state solution and opposes unilateral actions that make peace harder, like settlement expansion and annexation.
