Brian Poindexter is a Democrat running to unseat GOP incumbent Max Miller in Ohio's 7th Congressional District.
After working in a machine shop in high school and in kitchens, factories and the moving industry, Poindexter earned his Associate's Degree in Applied Industrial Technology from Cuyahoga Community College and became an ironworker in 2007, where he has continued his family's tradition of being a proud union member. As an ironworker, Poindexter led the projects at the Lumen at Playhouse Square, the Headframe at Morton’s Salt, and critical infrastructure at NASA Glenn Research Center. Most recently, as an apprenticeship instructor with Ironworkers Local 17, Brian has had the opportunity to pass along both the trade that gave his family stability and the lessons he's learned along the way.
In 2017, Poindexter was elected as an At-Large member of the Brook Park City Council, where he continues to serve as a strong advocate for working families.
