Don Beyer

  • Endorsed
  • 8th District, virginia

Diplomacy-first champion Don Beyer was first elected to the House in 2014. Prior to his time in Congress, Rep. Beyer served two terms as Lieutenant Governor of Virginia.

In Congress, Rep. Beyer chairs Congress’s Joint Economic Committee and serves on the essential House Committee on Ways and Means. In 2009, President Obama nominated Beyer to serve as Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein. He used his position to advocate for stricter sanctions to compel Iran to begin nuclear disarmament negotiations.

Rep. Beyer is a strong supporter of the US-Israel partnership and understands that for Israel to remain both Jewish and democratic, there must be a two-state solution. Throughout his time in Congress, he has been a public champion of J Street’s issues. He was one of the earliest co-sponsors of H.R. 326 in 2020, which reaffirmed Congress’s commitment to the two-state solution and opposed settlement expansion and annexation.
