Dwight Evans

Dwight Evans has represented West, Northwest, and Center City Philadelphia in the House since 2019.

Evans previously served in the Pennsylvania House, representing the 203rd district. Earlier in his career, he was a school teacher in Philadelphia.

Evans is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and the Congressional Black Caucus. He serves on the Ways and Means Committee and the Small Business Committee.

Evans is a consistent supporter of J Street’s values, priorities and legislative actions. He was a co-sponsor of H.R. 5344, the Two State Solution Act — a milestone piece of legislation which presented various mechanisms for bringing about an eventual peace. He also signed the Carson-Correa-Pascrell letter which called for a US investigation into the death of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh.
