Jessica Morse

  • Endorsed
  • 3rd District, california

Jessica Morse is running in California's 3rd District to defeat MAGA Republican, Kevin Kiley. Morse grew up in Northern California and remains there with her family. Jessica spent a decade working in national security for the US Defense Department, the US State Department, and USAID. This included a tour in Iraq in 2005, working side-by-side with US troops for eighteen months. Following these posts, Jessica was appointed Deputy Secretary for Forest and Wildland Resilience at the California Natural Resources Agency in 2019. Last year, she was appointed to the U.S. Wildland Fire Mitigation and Management Commission, helping develop recommendations and strategies to reshape national wildfire policies.

Morse is endorsed by EMILY’s List, Reproductive Justice for All (formerly NARAL), and many others.

Morse is strongly aligned with J Street’s positioning and would be a strong ally in Congress. She believes that “the US should work with Israelis and Palestinians to reach a peaceful end to hostilities.” She also believes in Israel’s right to defend itself and wants to “work closely with Israel to ensure that Israel upholds the humanitarian standards of the Geneva Conventions in protecting civilians as it defends itself.” Morse has said that “failing to reach [a two state solution] represents an existential threat to Israel.” She opposes “actions that undermine a two-state solution and inflame tensions on both sides,” like settlement expansion and annexation. Morse also supported the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement and will prioritize a diplomatic approach to the nefarious regime while in Congress. Morse is the right candidate to flip this district, and will have full J Street support on her path to victory.
