A native Nebraskan and dad of four, John Cavanaugh is serving his second term in the Nebraska State Legislature. There, he's blocked some of Republicans' most extreme pieces of legislation while leading the fight to lower costs and repealing the state's tax on diapers.
John is running in NE-02, the seat currently held by retiring Republican Don Bacon. This seat is ranked one of the most competitive in the country and is one of the three districts that voted for both Vice President Harris and a Republican Congressman in 2024.
John received a BA degree from Catholic University in Washington, D.C., and earned a JD and Master’s in Environmental Policy from Vermont Law School.
