A lifelong Syracusan, teacher of nearly thirty years, union president, and two-term New York State Senator, John Mannion is running for Congress to build on his proven record of delivering results for Central New York and the Mohawk Valley.

Mannion is the Founding Chair of the Committee on Disabilities, and serves on the Environmental Conservation, Education, Health, and Energy & Telecommunications Committees, among others. He led the passage of the Green Chips legislation – which will bring 50,000 jobs to the region – accelerated middle class tax cuts, championed environmental legislation, and helped pass some of the strongest reproductive healthcare protections in the country. In his run for NY-22, Mannion has been endorsed by the Onondaga County Democratic Committee. He also has the support of over 21 labor unions, including the NYS AFL-CIO, 1199SEIU, and UAW Region 9, over 20 current and former local elected officials, and 26 Democratic State Senators. Mannion is the only Democratic State Senator in New York representing a Republican-majority district.

Mannion is running for NY-22 to unseat incumbent GOP Rep. Brandon Williams. Mannion is aligned with J Street, acknowledging the values we share as countries as they relate to human rights, free and fair elections, and freedom of speech and religion. He is committed to continuing aid to Israel, sending aid to Palestinians, and working towards a diplomatic peace process and a two-state solution.
