Johnny Garcia is the Democratic nominee in Texas' 35th Congressional District.
A San Antonio native, Garcia worked construction and plumbing while attending community college. At 21, he joined the Bexar County Sheriff's Department. He worked patrol, served as a SWAT hostage negotiator and most recently was the Department's Public Information Officer.
In the primary runoff, Garcia defeated an antisemitic candidate who claimed she would make ICE centers a "prison for American Zionists."
