Kweisi Mfume represents Maryland's Baltimore-based 7th Congressional District. He was first elected to the district in 1986, previously serving on the Baltimore City Council for seven years. In 1996, Mfume left the House and was elected to the Presidency of the NAACP. Mfume was re-elected to his old seat in 2020.
Rep. Mfume is a respected voice of seniority in Congress, previously serving as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, and in the House Democratic Caucus leadership. Mfume has been a strong J Street ally during his tenure in Congress, signing onto numerous letters and pieces of legislation.
