Nancy Goroff is a JStreetPAC 'Primary Approved' candidate running for the New York 1st District seat in the June 25, 2024 primary.
Nancy Goroff is challenging Nick LaLota to represent Suffolk County in the 1st District of New York. This is a consistently competitive district on Long Island with Republicans controlling the seat narrowly since 2014. Goroff received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Harvard University in 1990 and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from UCLA in 1994. As an educator and scientist, Goroff taught for over 20 years at Stony Brook University and served as the chair of the Chemistry Department. Her research has focused on climate change solutions such as renewable energy production and storage. In Congress, Goroff will prioritize fighting for small businesses, lowering the cost of healthcare, education, climate change, and working together with colleagues across the aisle.
Goroff is a member of the Long Island Jewish community and a longtime supporter of J Street. In Congress, she will be an advocate for our issues and stand up for peace and democracy.
