Raja Krishnamoorthi

Raja Krishnamoorthi was born in India and moved to Buffalo, NY in 1973. After attending public school through high school, Raja received his bachelor's degree from Princeton University followed by his JD from Harvard Law School. Raja began his career of public service serving as the policy director for Barack Obama's 2004 Senate campaign and went on to serve in Illinois' Public Integrity Unit, Housing Development Authority, Innovation Council, and Treasury. He also co-founded a non-profit that provides training in solar technology to inner-city students and veterans.

Raja Krishnamoorthi was first elected to Congress serving Illinois' 8th District in 2016. In Congress, Raja has become a respected senior member of the House Intelligence Committee and the House Oversight Committee along with other committees and caucuses. Pushed towards J Street's initiatives in Congress following the tragedy of October 7th, Raja has proven to be aligned on the most crucial aspects of J Street policy. J Street is thrilled to welcome Raja to a robust contingent of J Street endorsees in Congress.
