Scott Peters has represented Coastal San Diego and its northern suburbs since 2013.
Peters served as an economist on the staff of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), then earned a J.D. degree from the New York University School of Law. Before his election to the San Diego City Council, he worked as a deputy county counsel for San Diego County and as an attorney in private practice focusing on environmental law.
Peters serves on the Committee on Budget, the Committee on Energy and Commerce, and the Joint Economic Committee.
In Congress, Rep. Peters has been a strong supporter of Israel and a proponent of a two-state solution. He he was a co-sponsor of H.R. 326, which reaffirmed Congress’s commitment to the two-state solution and opposed settlement expansion and annexation.
