Troy Jackson

Troy Jackson is a fifth-generation logger from northern Maine and is running to represent the state in the U.S. Senate.

Born and raised in Allagash, Jackson grew up watching the struggles facing working-class Mainers, including that of his father, a logger who went on strike over unfair working conditions. Jackson followed in his father’s footsteps and became a logger himself. He brought that experience with him when he entered public service, serving in the Maine House of Representatives from 2002 to 2008 before being elected to the State Senate.

In 2018, Jackson was elected President of the Maine Senate, a position he held through 2024. Throughout his time in the legislature, Jackson has fought to strengthen workers’ rights and improve the lives of working families, championing legislation to protect union jobs, make healthcare more affordable, provide universal school meals and protect reproductive healthcare.
