Representative Valerie Foushee represents North Carolina’s 4th Congressional District.
Rep. Foushee has seen firsthand that when leaders show up and listen, kids and working families thrive. She first ran for office to be a voice for students who were being overlooked, especially Black and brown children. She served on the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Board of Education, the Orange County Board of Commissioners, and for 10 years in the North Carolina General Assembly.
In 2022, she was elected to Congress, becoming the first African American and the first woman to represent the Fourth District.
