Sue Emmer and David Goodfriend are thrilled to invite JStreetPAC members to a reception with Angela Alsobrooks, the J Street-endorsed candidate who is running to replace retiring Senator Ben Cardin.
Born and raised in Prince George’s County, Angela Alsobrooks is the county’s chief executive, holding the dual distinction of serving as the first woman to hold the position and the first Black woman elected to the office of County Executive in Maryland history. Previously, she was the first woman to be elected Prince George’s County State’s Attorney.
Alsobrooks is a strong supporter of J Street’s values. She has advocated for “a negotiated peace resulting in a two-state solution that protects Israel’s identity as a democracy and Jewish homeland, while also protecting Palestinian human rights and fulfilling the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people to self-determination.” Alsobrooks opposes “any actions by either side that could harm the prospects of peace,” including settlement expansion and annexation.
With the 5th largest per capita Jewish population in the US, the Maryland Senate race is a key opportunity to elect a senator who represents and reflects J Street’s values and priorities.
Join us on Thursday, February 29 to send Angela to the Senate!
