Rep. Vasquez is running in one of the most competitive re-election races in the country. The DCCC has classified him as a Frontline candidate, making him one of J Street’s most vulnerable incumbent endorsees — and a champion worth fighting for. In Congress, he cosponsored the West Bank Violence Prevention Act to address settler violence, as well as legislation blocking taxpayer dollars from funding President Trump’s war of choice in Iran.
Dr. Shah is an emergency medicine physician running to represent Arizona’s 1st Congressional District. Dr. Shah has committed to representing J Street’s values in Congress and advancing a pro-peace agenda on Capitol Hill. The Cook Political Report rates AZ-01 as a toss-up, making it one of Democrats’ biggest flip opportunities this cycle. Republican David Schweikert held the seat for fifteen years before running for governor, leaving it open for the first time in over a decade.
