Fred Wellman is a retired Army officer, veterans advocate and entrepreneur running to represent Missouri’s 2nd Congressional District.
He is a West Point graduate and Army aviator who served over 22 years in uniform. Between his third and fourth combat tours, Wellman attended the Harvard Kennedy School as a Presidential Scholar and Center for Public Leadership Fellow, graduating with honors as a Lucius N. Littauer Fellow for outstanding academic achievement, leadership and future public service.
Upon retirement from the Army, he founded ScoutComms, a Public Benefit Corporation serving veterans and military families. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he led a field hospital in New York City and later served as Executive Director of the Lincoln Project. Today, he hosts a popular pro-democracy podcast on the MeidasTouch Network.
