Following a tenure in the Illinois House of Representatives, Robin Kelly was elected in 2013 to Congress to represent the voters of south suburbs of Chicago.
In Congress, Rep. Kelly has emerged as a strong voice for progressive issues. She has been an advocate for common sense gun reform and improved maternal health care. From 2021-2022, Kelly served as Chair of the Illinois State Democratic Party. She perviously served as vice-chair of the Energy and Commerce Committee and is a member of the Congressional Black Caucus.
Re. Kelly is a strong supporter of J Street. Since traveling to the region in 2008, the Congresswoman has been a vocal supporter of Israel and a proponent of a two-state solution.
