JoAnna Mendoza is running to unseat GOP incumbent Juan Ciscomani in Arizona's 6th Congressional District. Mendoza was born and raised in the district, growing up in a farmworker family, experiencing firsthand the challenges of poverty in a rural area.
At the age of 17, Mendoza joined the Navy. After three years of service in the Navy, she joined the Marine Corps, became a Drill Instructor, deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, and served in the military for over 20 years. Her legislative priorities include reducing the cost of food, gas, and housing.
Mendoza has committed to representing J Street's pro-Israel, pro-peace values in Congress.
