Jon Ossoff

  • Senate, georgia

Democratic superstar Jon Ossoff soared to national attention alongside Raphael Warnock when the pair won the Georgia runoff elections in January 2021, handing the Democrats control of the House, Senate and White House.

Upon his election, Ossoff became the first Jewish member elected from Georgia and the first millennial elected to the Senate.

He currently serves on the powerful Senate Judiciary Committee, the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and the Rules Committee.

Senator Ossoff is a proud J Street ally and routinely engages with J Street supporters.

The Senator has a deep understanding of J Street’s issues from his time as a defense policy expert on Rep. Hank Johnson’s national security team. He has a personal connection to Israel, seeking to prioritize its security, and pushes for strong US leadership toward a two-state solution.

Senator Ossoff has publicly spoken out against actions which undermine peace, freedom and democracy, including unilateral annexation. He has voiced support for President Obama's Iran deal, which verifiably blocked Iran's path to nuclear weapons, and supports negotiating a new agreement to block Iran from acquiring a bomb and avoid another unnecessary, catastrophic conflict in the Middle East.

In 2022, Ossoff successfully lobbied the Defense Department to maintain the post of United States Security Coordinator for Israel and the Palestinian Authority at a three-star general rank, which helped continue vital security coordination between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
