Nikema Williams

Nikema Williams has served as the representative for Georgia's 5th Congressional District since 2021.

Prior to her tenure in Congress, Williams worked as Vice President of Public Policy for Planned Parenthood Southeast, and as the Deputy Political Director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance.

Williams served in the Georgia State Senate from 2017 to 2021. She was elected chair of the Democratic Party of Georgia in January of 2019, the first Black woman to serve in that position in Georgia.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Talladega College in 2000.
