Sharice Davids has represented the Kansas City metropolitan area since 2019, when she unseated a four term incumbent to become just the second Democrat to represent her district since 1963. She is the first LGBTQ+ Native American to be elected to Congress.
Since entering Congress, Davids has spent her time working to tackle the issues most important to Kansas families, including lowering the cost of living, bringing new jobs to the community and fighting against special interests. Rep. Davids previously served as vice chair of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
Davids earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She graduated from Cornell Law School in 2010 and was admitted to the Missouri Bar Association the same year.
