Chicago Majority Makers Reception with Bill Foster

J Street’s Chicago Chapter is excited to invite JStreetPAC members and friends to the fourth in a series of events in support of pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy champions in our own backyard.

Our fourth event will be in support of a longtime friend of J Street, Congressman Bill Foster. Foster is a physicist by training, and is the only PhD physicist in Congress. He was a member of the team that received the 1989 Bruno Rossi Prize for cosmic ray physics for the discovery of the neutrino burst from the supernova SN 1987A. Foster also received the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ Particle Accelerator Technology Prize and was awarded an Energy Conservation award from the United States Department of Energy for his application of permanent magnets for Fermilab’s accelerators. He was a major supporter of the Iran Nuclear Deal, a view that was bolstered by his scientific background.
