A champion of public service, Congressman Mark DeSaulnier was elected 2014 to represent the voters in the East Bay suburbs.
Prior to Congress, DeSaulnier worked a variety of jobs such as as a probation officer, truck driver and hotel services employee. DeSaulnier later went on to own and operate several restaurants in San Francisco, which has informed his advocacy for small businesses.
DeSaulnier is a longtime supporter of strong environmental regulations, public health and education rights. His work in Congress has included serving on a variety of committees including the House Committee on Education and Labor and the House Committee on Oversight and Reform.
