Ammar Campa-Najjar is a candidate for California's 48th Congressional District, running to unseat GOP incumbent Darrell Issa.
Campa-Najjar served as Deputy Regional Field Director for President Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign, later working in the White House and at the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves as a Naval Officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve and teaches at Georgetown University.
Of Mexican and Palestinian heritage, and having lived in Gaza for four years as a child before moving with his family to San Diego, Ammar brings a deeply personal understanding of the need for rights and dignity for Israelis and Palestinians alike
