Seasoned progressive Becca Balint is a freshman Member of Congress representing the state of Vermont in the House. The first woman to represent Vermont at the federal level, she served seven years in the State Senate before launching her Congressional campaign.
Balint ran her House campaign as a staunch progressive, bolstered by a coveted endorsement from Senator Bernie Sanders. She’s embraced a wide range of progressive issues, including Medicare for All, pandemic recovery and fighting Big Pharma.
Representative Balint is a rising J Street champion. The granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor, she is clear eyed about the dual threats of antisemitism and authoritarianism. She spoke at the 2022 J Street National Conference, where she emphasized her commitment to human rights, self determination for both Israelis and Palestinians and defending democracy at home and abroad.
