A fourth-generation Coloradan and former Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democrats, Rep. DeGette has represented the voters of Denver since 1997.
A staunch advocate for women’s health care, she is the co-chair of the Pro-Choice Caucus. During her time serving in the Colorado State Legislature, DeGette authored a law that guarantees Colorado women unobstructed access to abortion clinics and other medical care facilities. In Congress, she has opposed efforts to place restrictions on federal funding of abortions.
In 2021, she was named an impeachment manager during the second impeachment of Donald Trump.
