Progressive leader Joe Neguse has represented the voters of Boulder and Denver’s northwestern suburbs since 2019.
He is Vice Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, and the first Eritrean-American elected to Congress. The son of refugees, Neguse has been a champion for immigration reform and serves on the Subcommittee on Immigration and Citizenship.
Rep. Neguse is a strong J Street ally.
He cites his parents' escape from war-torn Eritrea as motivation for supporting the US-Israel relationship, and stressing the need for a peaceful end to the conflict which delivers every Israeli and every Palestinian the right to freedom, security and self-determination.
Negus cosponsored H.Res. 326, reaffirming congressional backing for a two-state solution and opposition to settlement expansion and annexation. He has expressed continued support for diplomatic engagement with Iran in order to block its path to a nuclear weapon and avoid a potentially catastrophic, unnecessary war.
