Known as the “defender of democracy” for his leading role on the January 6th committee, Jamie Raskin is an experienced progressive legislator elected to Congress following a distinguished career in the Maryland State Senate.
A self-described “effective progressive,” Raskin rose to national prominence by serving as the lead impeachment manager during the second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump. Prior to his tenure in Congress, Raskin was a three-term State Senator in Maryland, where he also served as the Senate Majority Whip.
