Jill Tokuda

  • Endorsed
  • 2nd District, hawaii

Congresswoman Jill Tokuda was first elected in November of 2022. Her district comprises the majority of the state of Hawai’i outside of the city of Honolulu - including Kaua’i, Maui, Ni’i’hau, and Hawai’i (the Big Island). She was born and raised in the district, and later earned her bachelor’s degree from George Washington University. She is a fourth generation Japanese-American.

Prior to her service in Congress, Rep. Tokuda spent 12 years in the Hawai’i State Senate, where she served as Majority Whip and on a number of committees. In Congress, she serves on the Agriculture and Armed Services Committees, in addition to the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic. She is also a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, and serves as a co-chair of the Bipartisan Rural Health Caucus.

Rep. Tokuda has shown strong alignment with J Street during her time in Congress. She signed the October Nadler-Raskin-Goldman letter that we supported in October, voted 'no' on the Republican led Israel-only supplemental, and signed the recent Crow-Deluzio letter urging that Biden make clear to Israel that existing US laws says countries that block or restrict humanitarian aid cannot receive US weapons.
