Katherine Clarke has represented the northwestern suburbs of Boston for over a decade, taking the helm of Ed Markey’s seat when he ran for Senate.
A rising star in Democratic leadership, Clark served as Assistant Speaker under Nancy Pelosi for her final two terms and now serves as House Minority Whip -- the second highest ranked Democrat in the House. Her legislative focus includes women’s rights and gender equality.

Clark cosponsored H.Res. 326, reaffirming congressional support for a two-state solution and opposition to settlement expansion and annexation. During the 2021 Gaza escalation, Rep. Clark urged restraint and pushed for more action to reach a ceasefire to protect Israeli and Palestinian civilians.
Clark has been a strong advocate for diplomacy with Iran, supporting President Obama’s Iran Deal, which verifiably blocked Iran's path to nuclear weapons. She was one of several dozen lawmakers who declined to attend Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress in 2015, in which he sought to undermine the deal.
