Maggie Hassan

  • Endorsed
  • Senate, new hampshire

Only the second female Governor to be elected to the Senate, New Hampshire Senator Maggie Hassan was first elected to Congress in 2016.

Senator Hassan’s first run for office was inspired in large part by her advocacy for her son, Ben, who lives with severe disabilities. She served three terms in the State Senate, including a term as Majority Leader. She won the governorship in 2011 and served two terms. In her tenure as Governor, she focused on helping all Granite Staters have the quality of life they deserve.

In the Senate, Senator Hassan serves on the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, including as Chair of the Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Spending Oversight. She also serves on the Committees on Health, Labor and Pensions; Finance; Veterans’ Affairs and the Joint Economic Committee.

Hassan is aligned with J Street's values.

She stands against antisemitism and for the two-state solution. She also supported President Obama's Iran deal, which verifiably blocked Iran's path to nuclear weapons.
