Newly elected Democrat Sydney Kamlager-Dove took the reins of Karen Bass’ South LA, West LA and Culver City district in the 2022 midterms following Bass’ successful campaign for mayor.
An accomplished state senator and former assemblywoman, Kamlager-Dove ran on a progressive platform of criminal justice reform, voting rights, economic justice and a Green New Deal. She serves on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Rep. Kamlager-Dove is closely aligned with J Street.
She backs full security aid to Israelis and humanitarian and development assistance to Palestinians. Kamlager-Dove supports a two-state solution and has pledged to push back against all unilateral acts which work against that vision. The congresswoman supports returning to President Obama's Iran deal, which verifiably blocked Iran's path to nuclear weapons.
