JStreetPAC is thrilled to announce our formal endorsement for President Joe Biden’s 2024 re-election campaign.
Our endorsement of Joe Biden in the 2020 race marked our first-ever endorsement of a presidential candidate as we worked to defeat President Trump and his allies in Congress.
Together, we raised over $2 million for the Biden-Harris campaign and $7 million for pro-Israel, pro-peace, pro-democracy candidates in Congress.
“J Street was proud to endorse the Biden-Harris campaign in 2020, and we’re excited to once again do all we can to help re-elect a president who is standing up for our community’s core democratic values, at home and abroad,” said J Street President Jeremy Ben-Ami.
“At a pivotal time for the future of the United States and of Israel, we need to return President Biden to the White House so he can continue his tireless commitment to democracy, to diplomacy, and to the pursuit of peace and justice,” Ben-Ami said.
In the 2022 midterms, JStreetPAC raised over $7 million in the House and Senate, while the J Street Action Fund spent over $2 million supporting endorsees in key races. JStreetPAC endorsees constitute over half of the Democratic Caucus in both houses of Congress.
President Biden has long supported many of J Street’s most important priorities, including a just and peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He has helped to spearhead overwhelming support for Israel’s security alongside opposition to settlement expansion, creeping annexation and other measures that undermine the prospects for Israeli-Palestinian peace and Israel’s future as a democratic homeland for the Jewish people.
President Biden and his administration have consistently made clear that both the Israeli and Palestinian peoples equally deserve to live safely and securely and deserve equal measures of freedom, dignity, justice and prosperity. The President has also long been an advocate of tough, effective diplomacy to ensure that Iran can never develop a nuclear weapon.
As the Netanyahu government has advanced deeply controversial plans to undermine Israel’s independent judiciary and sparked massive pro-democracy protests, the president has stood up for Israel’s democratic institutions. This year, he stated that “like many strong supporters of Israel I’m very concerned… They cannot continue down this road.”
At its 2022 National Conference in Washington, J Street was honored to host a keynote address on behalf of the Biden Administration by Secretary of State Antony Blinken. During the Obama Administration, then-Vice President Biden gave a keynote address at J Street’s National Conference in 2013 and at the J Street National Gala in 2016.
