Up for Re-Election in 2026

Prior to the Senate, Luján served New Mexico in the House of Representatives from 2009-2021. He successfully chaired the DCCC in 2018, during which time he helped elect the most diverse freshman class to date . In addition, he served as the Assistant Speaker of the US House from 2019-2021.

Senator Luján is a staunch ally of J Street.

In April 2021, he signed a letter led by Senators Tim Kaine and Chris Murphy calling for President Biden to rejoin President Obama's Iran deal, which verifiably blocked the Iran's path to nuclear weapons. Lujan also strongly supports the two-state solution.
