Reverend Frederick Douglass Haynes III, Ph.D., is running to represent Texas' 30th Congressional District.
Reverend Haynes is a transformative leader, educator and advocate who has dedicated his life to fighting economic inequity, protecting civil rights, and empowering the next generation. During the Obama Administration, Reverend Haynes was invited to the White House to share his expertise with critical issues of economic justice and civil rights. Nationally recognized for his community-first initiatives, he founded the THRIVE Intern and Leadership Program, an initiative that equips young people with paid employment, professional job training, and leadership development.
As the Senior Pastor of Friendship-West Baptist Church, Reverend Haynes worked to grow the small congregation of fewer than 100 members into one of the most influential faith-based institutions in North Texas with over 13,000 members. Under his leadership, Friendship-West invested more than $3 million in Historically Black Colleges and Universities and supported students from the Dallas community in attending institutions nationwide.
