Congressman Joe Neguse has represented the voters of Boulder and Denver’s northwestern suburbs since 2019. In December 2022, Rep. Neguse was elected by his colleagues to serve as Chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC).
He is the first Eritrean-American elected to Congress. The son of refugees, Neguse has been a champion for immigration reform and serves on the Subcommittee on Immigration and Citizenship.
Neguse cites his parents' escape from war-torn Eritrea as motivation for supporting the US-Israel relationship, and stressing the need for a peaceful end to the conflict which delivers every Israeli and every Palestinian the right to freedom, security and self-determination.
