Michelle Vallejo is running for Texas’ 15th District against incumbent GOP Rep. Monica De La Cruz. Vallejo was the J Street endorsed Democratic nominee for the 15th in 2022.
Vallejo is a small business owner and community leader who comes from a family of farm workers, immigrants, and entrepreneurs. Michelle co-founded Hustle + Socialize, an annual women’s entrepreneurship conference providing resources and support for minority women in business throughout South Texas.
In 2021, Michelle helped immigrant rights’ organizations transcribe interviews of parents and children separated at the border during the Trump-era “zero tolerance” policy. Michelle is a passionate advocate for uplifting working-class Americans and not corporate interests.
Vallejo believes “America and Israel have shared a special bond of friendship and mutual respect from the very beginning.” She is also steadfast in her belief that “the conditions of peace will not improve unless the everyday living conditions of Palestinians improve as well.” Vallejo support a two-state solution, and believes that “we must take steps to cease the Israeli annexation and settlement of Palestinian territory” while also “[supporting] humanitarian aid to Palestinians.”
