Sydney Kamlager-Dove took the reins of Karen Bass’ South LA, West LA and Culver City district in the 2022 midterms following Bass’ successful campaign for mayor.
In 2013, Congresswoman Kamlager-Dove was appointed to the Los Angeles County Commission on Children and Families, and in 2015, she was elected to the Los Angeles Community College Board. She successfully ran for California State Assembly in 2018 and California State Senate in 2021.
An accomplished state senator and former assemblywoman, Kamlager-Dove ran on a progressive platform of criminal justice reform, voting rights, economic justice and a Green New Deal.
