A former staffer on the House Judiciary Committee during the impeachment of President Nixon, Rep. Lofgren has been a Member of Congress for nearly 30 years, representing a large chunk of Silicon Valley.
In 2020, Lofgren was selected as one of the seven impeachment managers during the first impeachment trial of Donald Trump. She also served on the January 6th Committee.
Lofgren is the former chair of the Committee on House Administration, a member of the Committee on the Judiciary, and the ranking member of the Committee on Science, Space and Technology.
Lofgren is belongs to the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and serves as an associate member of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus.
Rep. Lofgren has been a strong supporter of J Street’s legislative priorities, backing continued aid to both Israel and the Palestinian Authority. She was an early co-sponsor of H.R. 326, which reaffirmed Congress’s commitment to a two-state solution and opposed settlement expansion and annexation.
